Terms of Service
By creating an account or using Catholic Teams, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
Last updated: June 19, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding legal agreement between you and Catholic Teams (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account, accessing, or using catholicteams.com (the “Service”), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and all policies incorporated by reference herein.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or use the Service. The Service is not directed to individuals under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under that age.
If you are 16 or 17 years old, or otherwise under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Acceptable Use & Employer Posting Rules, and agrees to them on your behalf. By using the Service in that capacity, you confirm that such consent has been obtained.
3. Description of Service
Catholic Teams is a two-sided online job board connecting Catholic job seekers with Catholic organizations including dioceses, parishes, schools, and ministries. We provide the platform and related tools; we are not an employer, staffing agency, or recruiter. We are not a party to any employment agreement, hiring decision, or employment relationship between a job seeker and an employer, and we make no representations about any organization or position listed on the Service.
4. Account Responsibilities
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and keep it up to date.
- You may not share your account with others or use another person’s account without permission.
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to or use of your account at support@catholicteams.com.
5. Incorporated Policies
- Privacy Policy — governs how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
- Acceptable Use & Employer Posting Rules — sets out conduct standards for all users and specific posting requirements for employers. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.
6. User Content and License
You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service, including your resume, cover letter, profile information, and job postings (“User Content”). By submitting User Content, you grant Catholic Teams a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and transmit that content as necessary to provide the Service — for example, to display your job posting to job seekers, or to share your application with the employer you applied to.
You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to the User Content you submit, and that it does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, see the Copyright Complaints (DMCA) section of our Acceptable Use & Employer Posting Rules.
7. Employer Paid Plans and Billing
7.1 Plans and Pricing
Employers may choose from subscription plans (Starter, Growth, Enterprise) and one-time products (pay-per-post, Featured Post, Featured Boost). Current pricing is displayed on the Pricing page. All payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details; all card data is handled exclusively by Stripe on their PCI-compliant platform.
7.2 Subscriptions and Renewal
Subscription plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can manage your subscription through your employer dashboard.
7.3 Refunds
Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law. Pay-per-post purchases are non-refundable once a posting has been published. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at support@catholicteams.com within 30 days of the charge and we will review your request.
7.4 Taxes
You are responsible for all applicable taxes on purchases made through the Service. Prices shown may exclude applicable sales taxes.
8. Faith-Based Employment Context
Catholic Teams serves a faith-based community. Employers may have bona fide religious requirements for certain roles under applicable law (including, in the United States, exemptions under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for religious organizations). The Service facilitates listings by Catholic organizations; we do not adjudicate whether any particular job requirement constitutes a lawful religious exemption, nor do we provide legal advice on employment law.
Employers remain solely responsible for ensuring that their hiring practices comply with all applicable federal, state, provincial, and local employment laws. All permitted job requirements must comply with our Acceptable Use & Employer Posting Rules.
9. Prohibited Conduct
You agree to use the Service in compliance with our Acceptable Use & Employer Posting Rules, which are incorporated into these Terms. Key prohibitions include:
- Using the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Posting false, misleading, or fraudulent content including fake job listings.
- Scraping, crawling, or automated data collection without our consent.
- Circumventing fees by soliciting candidates or employers off-platform to avoid paying for the Service.
- Harassing, threatening, or engaging in discriminatory conduct toward other users.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any job posting will result in a hire, that any application will receive a response, or that any information on the Service is accurate, complete, or current. We are not responsible for the conduct, postings, or employment decisions of any user.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CATHOLIC TEAMS AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
IN NO EVENT WILL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO CATHOLIC TEAMS IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS (USD $100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Catholic Teams and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and request account deletion by contacting us at support@catholicteams.com. Account deletion is subject to the retention terms described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates these Terms, harms other users, or is otherwise harmful to us or the community. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
Informal resolution first. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at support@catholicteams.com and try to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
Venue. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, you and Catholic Teams consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Indiana for any legal proceeding arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service.
15. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Acceptable Use & Employer Posting Rules incorporated by reference, are the entire agreement between you and Catholic Teams regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
- Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
- No Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
- Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Force Majeure. We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, labor disputes, governmental action, or internet or utility failures.
- Survival. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution — survive.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in-app notice. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes your acceptance.
